FAQ:

1. What is a "sofa jam"?

2. What is a "sofa king"?

Well, good questions.   Glad you asked.

A sofa jam, like a traffic jam, is when you get stuck in or on your favorite sofa, and you just can't escape.   Often this is because you are "sofa king" comfy.   Or you could be "sofa king" out of it, snoozing to beat the band.   Or if you are sharing the sofa with someone special, then you might be "sofa king" lucky!   (Getting lucky on the sofa is also "sofa king" cool.   But you get the idea.)

Seriously now, this is a band.   Originally we were a rock band.   We called ourselves "The Sofa Kings", and it was good.   But then we diversified our portfolio.   We found ourselves joining with other performers, playing a wide variety of music at wonderfully different venues around the North Bay area.   Hence the new name, Sofa Jam.   (You will still see the old name for a while, we have many shirts and CDs to dispose of.)

We are still a rock band, but our sound and format vary with the venue.

Sofa Jam: Acoustic --   At the Aqus Cafe, the Station House, A'Roma Roasters, Ace in the Hole and the Trolley Barn, we are more acoustic.

Sofa Jam: Electric --   At the Petaluma Moose, Russian River Brewing Company, Toad in the Hole and De La Montanya Winery, we are more electric.   Don't ask what kind of current, it just alternates.

Sofa Jam: Eclectic --   On special occasions, we are joined by guest vocalists, guitarists, horns, percussion, harmonica, and so on.   It's fun.

Please join our email list and we will send you sporadic updates on our gig schedule.   We also have CDs for sale (check out the sample MP3s), available at the Petaluma Mail Depot, at Copperfield's Books in Petaluma, or if you are out of the area, click on the email link below.

We are sometimes available for parties, please click on the email link, someone from our call center in Central Asia will get back to you.   Along with our original songs, we also play tasty covers from Steely Dan, the Beatles and others.   We can delight listening audiences as well as dancers.   Normally we get $1,000,000 for a 3-hour performance, but this can be negotiable if you feed us or let us invite friends...
